How it works

YOUR NEXT MOVE.
THOUGHT THROUGH.

From the first service brief to the first dispatch, work through the details that make a warehouse transition practical.

How it works
01

Understand the operation

Share your products, order volumes, stock profile, sales channels and the reasons you are reviewing fulfilment. Identify special handling and the dates that matter.

Your input: a representative normal month and peak period.

02

Confirm service fit and scope

Review product acceptance, storage, handling, dispatch and integration requirements. Agree the commercial inclusions, exclusions and work needing separate approval.

Decision point: review the tailored proposal and service terms.

03

Prepare data, stock and workflows

Set product records, labels, packing instructions, contact responsibilities and planned inbound deliveries. Arrange the relevant system access through an agreed secure channel.

Your input: SKU data, delivery information and operating instructions.

04

Test the handovers

Review representative order types, stock updates, returns instructions and exception scenarios. Agree how outstanding issues are resolved before the operation expands.

Decision point: approve the setup and agreed go-live criteria.

05

Receive stock and start fulfilment

Coordinate inbound stock, reconcile discrepancies and begin the agreed fulfilment workflow. Review the information your team needs to monitor the operation.

Ongoing: follow the agreed reporting, review and support arrangements.

Moving from
another provider?

A transfer plan needs to account for the orders and stock that are already in motion.

Agree the final stock count, open orders, returns in transit, product data, packaging materials and the point at which each location stops or starts fulfilling. Allow for discrepancies and a clear rollback decision if a critical handover is not ready.

Read the switching checklist
How long does onboarding take?
Timing depends on product data, stock preparation, system work, receiving arrangements and the agreed scope. CSG confirms a plan after reviewing those dependencies.
Who should be involved?
Include a person who understands your stock and orders, the owner of your ecommerce or inventory systems, and the person who can approve commercial terms and operational changes.
What if I do not have all the data yet?
Start with the short quote form and explain what you know. The detailed questionnaire and downloadable checklist can help you gather the remaining information.
